Mermaid Party Favors

These favor boxes are for my daughter’s preschool classmates, who will be celebrating her 5th birthday in class tomorrow with some yummy donuts! Each box is filled with two tropical fish sticker sheets, three fish erasers, a mini pencil, and some Sixlets candies.

I used the Lawn Fawn Fancy Box die and some 5.5″ x 7.5″ watercolor paper pads that I found at my local Jo-Ann’s. I believe this product line is relatively new – at least to my local store. The pad has 24 sheets in 8 different colors, so three sheets of each color. I chose the turquoise and blue colors because they looked the most like the colors of ocean water. These pads are priced very reasonably, so I was comfortable buying three pads in order to get the 16 boxes in those two colors.

Mermaid Pop-Up Box Birthday Invitation

Our daughter is turning 5 this year! FIVE whole years!! I can hardly believe it. She is our little preemie, arriving 8 weeks early and weighing only 3 lbs 6 oz. After a month in the NICU, we were finally able to bring her home – well, to a hotel we were living in since our house sold during my 12-day hospital stay before she was born. (Yeah…that’s a whole other post on it’s own.) Anyway, she is healthy, happy, sweet, full of energy, and such a wonderfully kind little person!

When I saw this Scallop Box Card Pop-up die from Lawn Fawn’s recent release, I knew I had to make her invitations with it! Kelly Marie from Lawn Fawn posted a great video on how to assemble the box card, as well as a couple of examples including one with mermaids. Our daughter had requested a mermaid theme for her party this year, so it was meant to be!

Ninja Valentine’s Cards

I made 20 of these valentines for my son’s preschool classmates – there’s nothing like the deadline of a preschool party to motivate me – ha!

I’ve been wanting to use this Tiny Ninjas stamp set from Mama Elephant, ever since I first saw it in the Simon Says Stamp Masterpiece Box last July. No one volunteered to buy that Masterpiece Box for me, so I patiently waited for their release in November. I set alarms on my phone and computer to make sure I got it before it sold out, and I seriously made my purchase within the first few minutes of it being available. My package arrived a few days later…and then the holidays happened.

Octopus Valentine’s Card

When I saw the Octopi My Heart set from Lawn Fawn, I just had to get it! I immediately knew that I wanted to make my daughter’s preschool Valentines with this set, as we had been reading a fun library book called “My Octopus Arms” which prompted her to talk about how much more I could do with eight arms.

Coffee Birthday Card

I made this birthday card for my husband, who definitely enjoys his coffee fuel. This stamp set and the little epoxy stickers came in the February 2017 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit of the Month. He’s the first person I thought of making a card for when I saw the reveal of this kit’s contents, but there are so many possibilities for friends and other family members, too!

Viking Valentine’s Card

I made 20 of these Valentine’s cards for my son’s preschool teachers, family, and friends.

Using the Avery Elle Viking stamp set, I stamped the Viking image onto Strathmore Bristol Vellum with MFT black licorice hybrid ink. I knew I wanted to use my ZIG clean color real brush markers, and the vellum is a great paper that allows the colors to blend well.

Ice Cream Truck Valentine’s Card

I had been wanting to use this Avery Elle stamp set called The Scoop for quite some time now. This was the perfect opportunity to make the shakers I had imagined! I ended up making 20 of these cards for my daughter’s preschool teachers, family, and friends.
