NINJA BIRTHDAY CARDS

NINJA BIRTHDAY CARDS

My son was invited to a joint birthday party for two boys (turning 4 and 5) in his preschool class. Both of their moms mentioned that they each loved ninjas, so I knew I had to pull out the Tiny Ninjas stamp set from Mama Elephant!

I started off by stamping the city scape from the Avery Elle Super set in Simon Says Stamp’s Intense Black ink onto an A2 size piece of 80 lb Neenah Solar White cardstock. I used my MISTI so that I could line up the stamp in the same place on each card. It also helped me when I needed to double stamp the image to get the solid lines. I then created a simple mask for the light projection using 3M masking tape. I chose to have the “Happy Birthday” message projected from different buildings, and then did some basic ink blending with salty ocean Distress ink and my mini ink blending tool. After removing the masks, I stamped the sentiments with Altenew ruby red and desert night inks. I thencolored the buildings with a variety of Spectrum Noir markers, using: CT3, IG2, IG4, TB2, BG4, and BGR1. I used the largest die from Avery Elle Wonky Stitches to cut the card front down, making sure that the bottom edge didn’t show any white space beneath the buildings.

I used my ATG to attach these panels to the front of a top-fold landscape A2 card bases made from Bazzill Rock Candy cardstock. I stamped three of the ninjas from the Tiny Ninjas set in the same intense black ink onto coordinating die cuts for each image. I chose the ninjas based on the direction they were facing and how I wanted them to be flying over the buildings. Each ninja was colored with Spectrum Noir markers in DR4, OR2, and TB5. Finally, I adhered the two outside ninjas with foam tape, and the middle ninjas on mini action wobbles for some fun movement!
